Who are we?

Karl Dhont   

Karl Dhont started his career in 1994 with SSP Intl. in London. In 1998, he moved to Lucca in Italy to become head of the gaming division of the publicly listed company SNAI. He has set up several companies in Italy, Malta, UK, Gibraltar and Belgium. He has been an active investor since his return to Belgium in 2006 and is on the board of several private companies. Since 2008 Karl Dhont is a member of the Ethics and Disciplinary Unit of UEFA in the European fight against match-fixing and sports-fraud. In 2015 he also became a member of the board of the Belgian National Lottery. And in June 2019 he was awarded a Fellowship in Law and Criminology by the Brussels University (VUB), the Academy’s highest award. In May 2020, together with Michel Maus, professor of tax law, he has started the ‘Tribe Association’, to harness their expertise experience in finance, law and business in the world of football, esports, arts and literature.

Piet Van Waes   

Piet Van Waes has a university degree in commercial engineering (magna cum laude) from the Catholic University of Leuven. He started his career as a business consultant at Accenture. From 2005 to 2008 he was an investment manager for Partners@Venture, a leading Belgian venture capital fund, as well as Sniper One (until 2011), a long/short equity fund. Piet has worked on commercial real estate in Eastern Europe and is now Partner at Green Park Investment Partners, a Belgian private equity boutique. Piet Van Waes followed courses in corporate law (FHS) and FSA (JP Morgan).

Tom Willems   

Tom Willems has a master of science in economics degree from the Catholic University from Leuven and a university degree in economics from the University of Gent. He started his career in 1999 at West Capital Management in Philadelphia, U.S. In 2001 he became a financial management consultant at Pricewaterhousecoopers. In 2003 he joined Verbaere, De Clercq & Partners, an independent corporate finance boutique. From 2007 to October 2008 he was an investment manager at Partners@Venture, a leading Belgian venture capital fund.
